  • Sensational news:
Three hours of brand new music on three separate discs coming this autumn!

Anna Maria Jopek and Marcin Kydryński say:

Several years ago when we parted with our listeners after the "Dwa Serduszka Cztery Oczy" premiere, we forewarned that a lot of time would pass for our next record to come out. However, we promised that it would be worth waiting for and we have kept the word. Three years have passed. Intense, vibrating, full of happiness. We traveled round the world, met some outstanding artists, made friends and took part in many music events. We wish we could keep some of them with us.

Three different events, under the title "Spotkania" (Meetings) will be presented on separate discs this autumn. For those who yearn for it we will most probably create also one, three- record box with photo album from those incredible years.

Those three records are stylistically visibly different from one another. The first one is called Haiku- recorded together with Makoto Ozone and Tomohiro Fakuhara. It is an attempt of combining two seemingly distant traditions: Japanese and Polish. It was one of the most incredible sessions we had ever experienced. One night. Pure magic. Sometimes it happens.

The second album is called "Polanna" - the studio version of the project "Polka" we presented on the first Siesta Festival. It is a try to look at our music from the Renaissance to present time. We wished to single out this exceptional Polish element in the sound, phrase and the melody. Here we were accompanied by Maria Pomianowska, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Gil Goldstein and Rafał Kwiatkowski. The created music can be classified somewhere between the classic tradition, our jazz experience and folk elements.
We are about to finish it in New York together with Joe Ferla who is the great sound director, and our friend from Pat Metheny Group Steve Rodby who agreed to help us. We are very curious of the final version of the record!

On our final album we have been working for years, since the Lisbon Stories concerts or maybe longer. We called it "Sobremesa". This beautiful-sounding word means "a dessert". We hope that after the sophistication of the previous albums this one will be like a dessert for you as it is for us. Our meeting in the studio in Sintra was triggered by the fascination of lusophone culture as well as the world of Portuguese language and the musical traditions of the former Portuguese colonies. We reached for our favorite songs from Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde and of course from the Portugal itself. We created new pieces as well. There is a combination of languages, incredible energy, but sometimes also loneliness and famous Portuguese Saudade. We had a great time while working on this album. And what an honor to be able to work with the greatest lusophone figures. Who are they? That is a surprise! This album is the happiness kept in the sound. We believe you will be able to hear it.

You will have a chance to listen to the initial song from "Sobremesa: album on the 25th of June in Marek NiedĽwiecki's program in "Trojka" Polish Radio. We hope it will bring you joy. We are planning the premiere of all three albums for October. In November get ready for Sobremesa Tour - over a dozen concerts in Poland with our Portuguese friends. This is going to be a wonderful dessert after a hard working year. We hope to see you there!
